Essay excerpt from Reverend Otis Moss
I believe that if African Americans can truly understand that there is something greater than us, we can begin the process of healing our community. That “something” is God and Christ. When you have this value in place, it changes your world view from “me” to “we.” Building this broad community effort is the role of the Black church. We must incorporate a kind of theology that is willing to critique, engage, and dismantle issues around race and class. Our community has to be ready and willing to embrace constructive criticism that comes along with this type of dialogue. Read more…
